A National level Symposium “ELECTRA-2K14” was organized by the Dept. of ECE of Kuppam Engineering College. The theme of the symposium will provide a platform for the exchange of new ideas, thoughts, emerging trends and realizations on recent advances in Embedded and Telecommunication Technologies. Dr. Mani, Retired Executive Engineer in BEL & President of Helping Hand Association, Bangalore was the chief guest on the occasion, while Mr. K. Karthik, Project Manager, EC-Cube, Bangalore and Prof. Mahesh, MITS, Madanapalle were the Guests of honor. The function started with lighting of the traditional lamp. The college students presented a Saraswati Vandana followed by welcome address by honorable vice- chairman Dr. Sunil Raju garu , Principal Dr. Soma V.Chetty and Head of the dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering Dr. G. N Kodanda Ramaiah.
Dr. Mani, in his inaugural address, he said “Be passion, be proud, be sincere and dedicate in your profession and work hard to achieve your timely goals. Read a lot of things related to your profession and they are available as readymade in websites. There exists lot of threads from other countries inspite of those threads we Indians should emerge as super power and sustain our country economy. Only three lakh and twenty thousand employees are there in India who works in embedded system. Embedded system is a core which consists of both software and hardware and market for embedded systems grows as gross domestic product (GDP) ie from 4 % in 2004 to 20%. According to NASSCOM, the VLSI and embedded industry would employ 750,000 professionals by 2015 with about 680,000 for embedded systems, 75,000 for VLSI design and the remaining 10,000 in manufacturing. And he extended his valuable speech on “Trends in Embedded System and its Research”. In this occasion the vice- chairman hosted the website & Promo of electronics and communication department www.kecece.in developed by the student Mr. G.S Ajay Kumar who were studying 3rd Year B.Tech, in KEC.
More than 200 students from various colleges had participated and won prizes. Events like Project Expo, Paper presentation, Technical Quiz, Logo Identification & Many Spot events were conducted. Dr. N. Sunil Raj, Vice Chairman, awarded the prizes along with the chief guest Dr. Mani Garu , Guest of honour Mr. K. Karthik , Prof. Mahesh, Principal Dr. Soma. V. Chetty, HOD of ECE Dr. Dr. G. N Kodanda Ramaiah. The National Level Technical Symposium got a very good response and excellent feedback was provided by the students who had attended the symposium.
